First Mates, Last Laugh
Where South American meets Japanese cuisine.
The harbour-side space in Westhaven Marina was thoughtfully designed by the team at Material Creative, who created a “relaxed yet elevated dining experience with a coastal, LA beach club-inspired design”.
Soft Aalto hues anchor the design, complementing the natural tones of golden timber, and pops of blue woven throughout. The ceiling is in Aalto Metro, a warm neutral pigmented with organic umber and a touch of green. The walls are in Aalto Spatial, a dynamic white that gently shifts in the changing light.
With a seamless indoor-outdoor flow, considered design, and an innovative menu, First Mates, Last Laugh feels like a true breath of fresh air in the Auckland dining scene.
