Poor Print Resistance

Poor Print Resistance

Tendency of paint film to take on the imprint of an object that is placed on it, i.e. a shelf, table or windowsill with books, dishes or other objects on them.

  • Use of low quality semi gloss or gloss paint
  • Putting a painted surface back to use before the paint has fully dried

Use top quality waterbased semi gloss or gloss paint. Low quality paints can have poor print resistance, especially in warm, damp conditions. Oil based paints also have excellent print resistance. Make sure the recommended cure time is allowed before the painted surface is put back into service. Cool or humid conditions require more curing time.
