Aalto Paint specialises in the creation and production of beautiful, multi-pigmented colours using only the highest grade paint and colourants. Our unique colour system has been designed to fulfil the needs of interior designers, architects and individuals with a discerning eye for colour.
Aalto colours are multi-pigmented, using up to 11 colourants to create a single colour, allowing for the full interplay of light and pigment within the colour. As the light changes during the day, so will your Aalto colour.
Light is made up of numerous waves or impluses each having different dimensions or wavelengths; the eyes and brain translate light into colour.
All surfaces absorb and reflect different wavelengths - it is reflected wavelengths that determine what colour we see. When separated, any single wavelength will produce a specific colour impression to the human eye. Each colour has its own properties that form its wavelength, from violet with the shortest wavelength through the colour spectrum to the reds which have the longest.
The more pigmented your paint is, the more wavelengths are created and therefore the greater the perception of depth. Aalto colours are all individually built to allow for the full interplay of light and pigment.
Are all colours created equal? At Aalto we believe not, formulating and making colour with an artists eye rather than the cost driven focus popular within the paint industry. The result is complex colours that are visually different and unique, produced in a range of premium paint products.
Choosing a colour demands an appreciation of light and the nature of the space. Every Aalto colour contains all the pigments required by the chosen colour - there are no shortcuts to building a colour. Where traditional paint colours use up to 4 pigments to create a colour, Aalto colours use up to 12, allowing for a truly unique and multi-pigmented result.
