When the team at Spatial Studio were asked to renovate the kitchen in this Herne Bay residence, they knew they wanted to create a more social space for their clients. The brief was to maximise storage, and create a more practical and user-friendly kitchen fit for entertaining as well as everyday family needs.
The use of soft Aalto Narrate 1/2 on the cabinetry and Aalto Powdered Wig on the walls was the perfect choice for a calming backdrop.
"We decided to bring the kitchen sink off the wall and create an island concept, which created a more social space having cooking and sink side by side, with standing/sitting space in front. We replaced and heightened the old sink window to give a better outlook to the outdoor living.
The kitchen houses an integrated beverage fridge, integrated fridge/freezer, and hidden pocket pantry for the everyday small appliances. One Blum space tower pantry and customised tall pantry to the end of kitchen with two drawers, adjustable shelving with vertical divisions inside for platters and boards. Every item was specifically allowed and designed for in this space to utilize every corner using the best system. Even a push to open flap on the island for iPads and phones to be charged."
